Patient Care Services Nationwide ‘Patient Care Is Our Priority'

Thames Ambulance Service

We offer a professional service which provides high quality, individually tailored care to our patients.

Thames Ambulance Service is contracted by a number of NHS hospitals and primary care trusts to take patients to and from their pre-arranged hospital or clinic appointments, we can respond to ad-hoc journey requests and provide specialist transfer services ranging from Non-Emergency Patient Transport, Social Care Transport, Front line A & E Support, Bariatric, Cardiac, ITU and Special Care Baby Services.

Thames Ambulance Service is committed to providing the highest possible standard of patient care to all of the patients we convey.

We undertake regular patient satisfaction surveys in order to measure our success, and to identify areas for improvement and the information gathered is used to develop specific action plans to ensure that we continue to provide the highest possible patient care.

In addition to our own internal audits and governence arrangements to ensure a high quality service, Thames Ambulance Service is also registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) who governs what providers should do to comply with the health and Social Care Act 2008. Details about the registration requirements that we adhere to can be found on the CQC Website www.cqc.org.uk

Further quality assurance is undertaken through the process that Thames undertakes to maintain and hold ISO 9001:2008, Investors in People and recognised as being Positive about Disabled People.

Voluntary Car Service

Volunteer car drivers work across our contracts and are a valuable part of our patient focused service delivery. They use their own cars to provide a door-to-door service for non-emergency patients, taking them to and from day hospitals, outpatient clinics and various specialist treatment centres, including dialysis centres.
